Teachings of The Brotherhood of Light Workers

Being Insightful

by jUDI tHOMASES

The following segment has been received, word for word through a psychic process known as channeling. It is an invited procedure. The teachings always serve to guide us through the journey of life.

BEING INSIGHTFUL

Being insightful is a good thought, for the word "insight" causes us to turn our vision inwards. And when that is accomplished naturally, information or realization appears like magic. No effort is required. And then it feels as though a new thought has formed in your mind, and your mind has given you a gift of knowing that which was not present before.

Usually it feels as though the insight has occurred spontaneously, and out of the blue... or we would say, even mysteriously. But in truth it has germinated for awhile. It might have been the other day that you realized a truth, and chatted with yourself about a happenstance between you and another, or you and the world. This chat may have seemed like a monologue, forgetting as you did that there is always present in your mind an alter ego, or a higher self, that you are talking to, and who sometimes replies.

This monologue allows you to chew over an experience and digest it. Sometimes it has been troubling, and other times it has been exhilarating, but at the point of inner discussion the nucleus of understanding that has been its true value has not been consciously understood. It is this, then, which later crops up as a sudden insight. A realization. a thought appearing out of nowheres. Rather, we are saying, it has germinated, and brought to your conscious attention the very bit or piece of understanding that was at the core of the entire piece of life experience.

Is there a difference, then, between insight - looking inwards, seeing into something deep within - and wisdom, that body of intuitive knowledge that you carry with you through your life as treasure? No, for wisdom is the sum total of multiple insights. And insights are the result of life experience germinating in your interior dialogue. And so even if you spend some days drifting with your mind looking out the window, you are still working at developing the interior self, the sum of who you were, who you are, who you will be as you continue in your personal drama.

The mystery of insight is at the core of understanding the entire purpose of incarnation. Its value to you cannot be underestimated. For those who feel they have little insight and rarely hear or receive that spark, we suggest more interior dialogue. Journal your days' events. Discuss them. If you prefer discussing your personal tidbits with another, that's fine. All that is needed is a bit of quiet time, even before you fall asleep, to process the day's events. Insights will not fail to germinate and blossom, and you will become wiser by the minute.
