Ask Your Pet

by Jennifer Dickman

Dear Readers,

I hope that you’re all well. I’m going to be stepping out of my usual format to address pet-related aspects of the COVID-19 pandemic. I hope you’ll find this helpful.

Animals are energetically-sensitive creatures. Our pets are aware of our moods and emotions. And, they’re attuned to the collective energy that surrounds and connects us all. That energy generally has less of an impact than the energy in our homes. However, if there’s what Yoda would term “a great disturbance in The Force,” they feel it. And, the disturbing energies of fear, panic, grief, loneliness, desperation, and anger are so great in the collective field right now, that our animals cannot help but be affected. (There are also many Lightworkers diligently striving to counter this!) To put it succinctly, our pets know something is up, and unless we reassure them, they’re going to be concerned.

The good news is that in helping them, we can help ourselves. Our companion animals look to us for their sense of safety and well being. We can have a profound impact on them with just our thoughts and feelings. Try your best to lift yourself up out of fear, and into a place of calm, peace, and love. On at least a daily basis, practice feeling the Divine Spark within you radiating Its love, healing, compassion, and peace to every cell in your body. Feel yourself enveloped in a cocoon of this beautiful, protective Divine Light. Feel your emotions settle into a calm confidence that all is well, and will remain well.

When you’ve achieved the above state, radiate those feelings of love, healing, calm, and peace to your household, and if you feel so inclined, out to the collective field of our planet. Doing so will not only reassure your companion animals, but bring you greater peace of mind, and help lift up and heal the world. As others will doubtless be writing in this publication and others, we are at a great turning point. We must choose personally, and as a whole, to raise our consciousness to a place of love, compassion, and caring. We must choose to be active participants in healing our broken systems, our unhealthy ways of living, and the destruction we’ve wrought upon the planet. The alternative (and there is always an alternative, due to free will), is to live in a place of fear and darkness, and allow our planet to descend into further chaos. We don’t have to live that reality - the choice is ours.

So again, for our own sakes, and that of our pets, we must strive for calm, peace, love, and higher thoughts. That does not mean that fear and other “negative” thoughts won’t creep in. That’s only natural. But, when those arise, we can ask for them to be transformed into Light, and practice feeling the Divine Spark within, and radiating love. I think it goes without saying that watching the news is generally not healthy right now, and having it on will cause our pets greater upset. Check in online to see if there are any stories you’d like to read, or if there are any pertinent updates from your state, city, or county. Digest it, and then let it go, refusing to worry over that which you can’t change, and knowing that your positive energy and intentions do make a difference.

Similarly, social media is both a blessing and a curse at the moment. It’s providing a vehicle for us all to connect, and many wonderful teachers like Eckhardt Tolle are giving free talks or leading meditations. I’m personally trying to post uplifting quotes, thoughts, and nature pictures on my Instagram feed (@jenniferdickmanone). However, social media is also currently filled with a lot of fear and anger. So, tread carefully, and try to read posts from people you know will be positive and uplifting.

Don’t forget the healing power of both humor and nature. Watch funny shows and movies. Spend time outdoors, even if it’s in your own yard. And, tell your dear ones, both furry and human, that you love them. Radiate love to all.

All is well. All will be well. You are Divinely loved and protected. You are never alone.

Many Blessings of Love. Light, Healing, Protection, and Peace to You,

Jennifer Dickman
