Ask the Astrology Guy

by Jeff Pica

Dear Astrology Guy,

My husband Anthony and I have been looking to buy a house for about four years now and, for one reason or another, whether it be the owners, the agent, the house itself - it hasn’t worked out until now (YAY!) We found one we really like and want.

Is there anything in the heavens that will tell me just how stressful this time will be? I’m already having meltdowns. Is this finally the right house for us? Will this house truly become ours? Will there be any problems we’re not forseeing right now? Will I love it?

Thank you!

Debbe

Hi Debbe,

You have a very interesting natal chart. You have a Mystic Rectangle in your chart. Not a very common aspect. It’s when there are two oppositions in a chart and the “ends” of each opposition trine and sextile each other. You’ve got Neptune opposed Jupiter and also Mercury opposed Mars, Pluto, and Uranus. All these planets trine or sextile each other, meaning there are two dynamics within you, and one helps the other express itself. It’s a wonderful aspect for psychic ability.

You have Sun and Mercury conjunct (or close to) the Nadir, the bottom of the chart and the edge, or cusp, of the Fourth house, so the home, emotions, roots are all very important to you. Your husband Anthony has the same aspect in his natal chart, Sun and Mercury conjunct the Nadir, so he feels the same way as you do about home life. Naturally, your Composite (or Relationship) chart has the same aspect, making “the home” a very important area within your relationship. Looking at the Composite as a whole, however, there’s an aspect called a Grand Cross, when the “ends” of two oppositons square each other, meaning there are two dynamics at work within the relationship that get in each other’s way of expression. The Composite Mercury, Nadir, Sun, and Jupiter are all in opposition to Venus and the Midheaven (the top of the chart), also Saturn opposes Uranus and Pluto. All the planets involved square each other, telling us that your home life and your relationship will often be confronted with obstacles, challenges, learning experiences. The issues that arise can be unsteadying and intense. Since this is your Composite chart, these issues can be a recurring theme within your relationship.

Luckily, the Composite chart also has an aspect called a Grand Trine (three placements within 7 degree orb of each other, and all in the same Element: Fire, Earth, Air, or Water) between the Composite Ascendant, Mars, and Mercury/Sun/Jupiter, giving the relationship a means of healthy expression, and since Jupiter and the Sun are involved, ultimately a growth promoting relationship. As part of the Grand Trine, Mars in the Eighth house makes sexual expression within the marriage a healthy one.

Debbe, I can see things this year have been nerve racking for you, with transiting Saturn opposing your progressed Mercury, creating worry and frustration. Saturn further squares your progressed Ascendant, adding tension to your marriage. But be happy to know that these transits are over for you by the end of Summer 2011.

Fall 2011 brings a feeling of excitement for you around a new home when

transiting Uranus trines your progressed Moon, and know that whatever choice you make in a new home will ultimately be a good one as beneficial Jupiter moves into your progressed Fourth house of the home, making this the ideal time to buy and make a home. If the house you recently found is yours by the Fall then this is the ideal time to make it a home. If the house you recently found falls through, then this Fall you will find the right one. This is a lucky period. You can breathe a sigh of relief and know everything will work out.

Although your husband Anthony probably felt a lot of pressure and responsibility on him this year as Saturn transited over his progressed Sun, he still must have been in a more upbeat and positive mood than you, as transiting Jupiter opposed his progressed Mercury and squared his progressed Ascendant.

Early Summer, the Solar Arc of Mars squares Anthony’s natal Saturn, adding a good chance of frustration for him and a feeling of being ineffective. There’s harmony by mid-Summer when transiting Saturn trines his Moon.

Ironically this Fall, you will flip-flop experiences with your husband. As your outlook begins to improve, Anthony may begin to worry with responsibility when Saturn transits over his progressed Mercury. Transiting Uranus opposes his Venus during the same time. Tension might arise with financial matters or with people who may be combative, as the Solar Arc of Mars opposes his Ascendant. Later in the year, transiting Saturn squares his Ascendant, which unfortunately adds more strain and pressure within the marriage. I feel ultimately he’ll hold things together with transiting Saturn trining his Midheaven.

One thing to remember Debbe is that transiting Jupiter is moving through your progressed Fourth house of the home. This is the best opportunity to buy/sell real estate, make improvements to your house or grow your home in some way. Astrologically, this transit comes around every 24 years. Feel confident that your home life will improve with Jupiter’s influence. This is a wonderful period. Know that by looking at the Composite chart, your marriage in a major way is about the “home.” You’ll have issues. With the “flip-flop” as described above, alternating in mood while lifting the other up, you’re expressing the true nature of a “marriage,” all-the-while making a house a home.

I hope this has helped.
