Change Through Balance
by Michael Aloia
Why does the world have to change first before we decide to do anything? Why wait? The way of the day is to wait around and talk about things but not act upon them - waiting for others to start, to take the chance, while we sit, watch and criticize - all the while we could have spent that precious time making our own changes – in our own immediate world.
Once we as individuals change – something amazing happens – the world around us changes – the people around us change – everything is affected – it’s change making change. So to wait for the world to change, we run the risk of the worst happening – nothing.
With every new day, each one of us should have a goal – a focus that allows our mind, body and spirit to work on working together. This focus, this oneness, helps us attain a deeper understanding of ourselves and all that surrounds us.
A daily focus could simply be balance – balance of the mind, body and spirit - in our lives on and off the mat; balance with ourselves and balance with others. It is through balance we reach new levels, receive new clarity and experience new joys of life. Balance opens up the doors of opportunity allowing us to see what lies ahead. It clears the path to personal enlightenment. Without balance we simply are out of balance to take the next step in life. Be balanced.
