Divine Wisdom From Michele Livingston
by Michele Livingston
Dear Michele,
Do you know if our souls stay in our bodies at night? From the time I was a little kid I’ve dreamt of flying. Sometimes it’s just dreams of floating through my home and bouncing off the ceiling, and sometimes it seems like I’m out in space flying rapidly past stars. Is this normal? I don’t remember anything else when I get awake except these sensations. This experience still happens to me at least once a week, and I’m curious what you think of it. Tom F.
Dear Tom,
Each individual soul is here to work, learn and spiritually grow on the earth plane or third dimension; but we also do soul work in other dimensions of light and energy. We do not leave our bodies only upon death, the soul can indeed leave during the sleep state–usually between 11 PM and 3 AM–and travel inter-dimensionally. This is called "astral projection." There is an invisible silver cord attached to your physical body in the solar plexus region (similar to the umbilical cord) and it is also attached to the midsection of your soul or your "light body." When your soul astral travels, the cord stretches and when the soul returns too quickly, the cord snaps back into your body. If your body sometimes jerks upon awakening, that’s the reason.
In the other dimensions we are sometimes met by our spirit guides, angels or departed loved ones. Those that are in our "soul group," who are not incarnated at this time are also there to greet us. In the other realms we have access to the Akashic (soul) Records, are mentored by our guides, given information about our soul’s journey and can also travel through 9 other dimensions for exploration. (As far as I know there are 12 total dimensions of light and energy.) Most souls are out of the body in the sleep state doing astral work for an average of 2 nights a week. Other souls are very dedicated to astral work and may leave 4 or 5 nights a week! This can be taxing on your physical body and energy levels.
So how do you know when your soul has been out doing spiritual work? There are three main keys. First, if you don’t dream or can’t remember your dreams, that is a sign you’ve been astral projecting. Remember, when you re-enter your body you have a form of "spiritual amnesia." We don’t consciously retain all that we have experienced and done in the other dimensions. The second way to know that your soul has been out of the body and has re-entered is when you wake up restless between 3 and 5 AM and can’t get back to sleep. Lastly, if you’re exhausted, dizzy, groggy or feel wiped out in the morning and have had adequate sleep (at least 8 hours), you’ve likely been astral traveling. Occasional dreams of flying or falling may also be an indication of your explorations.
If you indeed want to remember your nightly journeys, then before you go to sleep ask your "soul mind" to show you the other realms in lucid detail and ask to consciously remember your experiences. Keep a notepad or recording device by your bed and upon awakening immediately jot down or record your impressions.
Now there is a way to command your soul to stay in your body on certain nights. If there is something important that you need to do the next day (whether it’s a meeting at work, a school exam or some other important activity), then this request is invaluable for energy and well-being. Say:
I do not want my soul to leave my body tonight. I want to stay in my body, dream and experience rapid eye movements (REMs) and I want to wake up fully refreshed with energy in the morning.
This works like a charm, but only say it when necessary, because some of our greatest works, both for ourselves and for humanity, are done when we are astral traveling while sleeping.
Hi Michele,
I am very frustrated because I desperately want a baby but can’t as yet conceive. I just turned 40 and know that usually women can only have children into their mid-40s. There is nothing anatomically wrong with my reproductive organs, but I obsess about this and I’m driving my husband crazy! Should we adopt or should we keep trying? Thanks for your column and your advice.
Jana B.
Dear Jana,
I have received many e-mails and letters on this subject, so as always I contacted my angels called the "light beings." This is the response I received:
There are many women who desperately want a child. First, many times if the woman or couple is stressed or anxious, conception is unlikely to take place. Stress blocks the flow of procreation. Vacations together are one solution and some conceptions take place near water, because it is a healing and feminine element. (Water helps you to relax and "go with the flow.") You can also invite a special soul to come to you and consciously ask it to be your child. Before you go to sleep at night, say the following:
Dear Lord, please send a special soul to me from my soul group in heaven. I pray for a precious child to be conceived, to be born and to be healthy. I invite that soul into our lives now to fulfill the soul agreements that we have previously made. Thank you for hearing and answering my prayer.
If it is God’s perfect will, and if the soul agrees to incarnate, then there will soon be a pregnancy. If not, then please consider adoption.
If a soul on the other side who really wants to be born knows you will have difficulty conceiving and carrying a baby, then it will choose a surrogate route to get back to you! There are no accidents with adoption and so many precious babies need good homes. Those couples who adopt may also conceive their own child shortly after, because the stress and pressure of getting pregnant is alleviated.
