Divine Wisdom From Michele Livingston
by Michele Livingston
Dear Michele,
My fiancé and I are looking for a house and we have looked at a couple already. The last one we saw I really, really loved except when we went upstairs, I had this weird feeling come over me. Also, my fiancé had felt like someone was breathing down his neck and watching him. I was just wondering if this experience should stop us from buying the house. Thanks,
Linda
Hi Linda,
These occurrences should not necessarily stop you from buying the property, although the house needs to be spiritually cleansed. Many of my clients call or e-mail to ask me how to protect and raise the energy in their home or office. Some have older homes where angry past owners have died, so they see apparitions or feel negative energy. There may be unrest when a home or office is built on an Indian burial ground or near a Civil War battlefield. In these situations, those inhabiting these environments may experience uneasiness, restlessness, personal energy drains and general dark, foreboding feelings. Discarnate spirits are earthbound and some do not realize they have died in a traumatic way. Others refuse to go to the light and want to stay on the earth plane to oversee their so-called home or property. There may be troubled people who inhabit an environment and who literally leave their emotional baggage behind when they move on. When you move into their space, you imbibe their emotional energy patterns.
First, before you move into an older home, open all the doors and windows to let light and fresh air flow through. This will start to cleanse the home. For deceased souls that still cling in your space, simply command them to "go to the light." Try not to feel fearful, but confident when you make this command. Many discarnate spirits feed off of your fear, which can strengthen their energy.
Smudging your home with Native American sage, or sweet grass sticks will help purify the environment. Take a bowl and light the stick over it. Blow out the flame and fan the smoke around your body. Use the bowl to catch the ashes. Say, Sacred sage, drive away all negativity from me and my home. Clear out anything that is not for my highest good. Go through your house, starting in the basement, then go room to room (remember to include your closets) and hold the lit smudging stick up into each of the four corners of the rooms. In each room say the following invocation:
This home is cleansed in the pure white light of God’s goodness and protection. It is a safe and blessed haven in which to live. Cleansing power of sage, drive away all that is negative. All who dwell here live in peace, love and joy. Anything not of the light, leave now!
When completed, smother the end of the smudge stick in your bowl or hold it under running water. Make sure your stick is extinguished! Wrap it in a baggie and store it for future use.
Next, spraying holy water is another way to protect your space and rid it of unwanted energy. Even if you are not Catholic you can obtain holy water at any Catholic Church. If you can’t obtain holy water, put a clear glass jar filled with steam distilled water on a windowsill in direct sunlight for three days. Put the water into an atomizer or sprayer. While you’re alone, spray the holy water in each room and say out loud, Anything that is not of the light, leave now. You’re not welcome here! Then spray some water on your fingers and make the sign of the cross at the top of each doorway. You might get chills and immediately feel the energy lift.
Another effective way to clean out negative energy is to do a "white lighting" technique. Before you go to sleep at night, visualize (in your mind’s eye) a very large, pure white sheet of light. First the sheet of light is under the foundation of your home or office. Slowly, in your mind, start to bring the white sheet up through the basement, the first floor, second floor and so on. Observe that gray matter has collected on the sheet. That is negative energy that has accumulated in the immediate area, either from discarnate spirits or from living individuals who recently inhabited the space. It may also come from your own negative thoughts or moods.
Continue to move the sheet of light up through the entire building, bringing it up and out through the rooftop. Raise it to about six feet above the roofline. You will now notice even more dark gray patches that have accumulated there. Now slowly take the four corners of the white sheet and fold them together, making a bundle with the dark matter collected inside. In your mind’s eye, tie a big knot on the top with a gold ribbon and send it way out into space! Watch as it disappears. The vibration of your home will be raised and you’ll experience a new calm, peace and contentment.
These techniques are also helpful when you are trying to sell your home. If you have lived in an environment for an extended period of time, memories and emotions still cling to the physical property. You may unconsciously be clinging to the space and the home will not sell. If this is the case, the "white lighting" technique will help to expedite the release of any and all attachments you may have.
