Have You Ever Felt The Presence of a Loved One Who Has Passed?

by Angie Printup

Have you ever felt the presence of a loved one who has passed? Over the years I can remember hearing various stories of such, but never really paid much attention to them, until last year.

I had known Tom and Judy since the early 90’s. They were two people that were extremely devoted to one another. Their story is one of true love and a connection that would prove to transcend the boundaries of this realm in which we exist. Tom lost his beloved wife to cancer in 2008 and during a “get-together” with friends he shared a very poignant story of their communication with one another after her passing. Following is an excerpt from his story that became the inspiration for the path I am on now.

“Tom found himself alone in his house experiencing a loss that he could never fully convey to anyone else. How can you possibly function when you become so separated from your soul mate?

Shortly after Judy’s passing Tom received a birthday gift from two of his relatives. It was a beautiful pail of candy holding down a large “Happy Birthday” balloon with ribbons tied to it. He set the arrangement on the table with no realization that this would be the vessel for his communication with his beloved Judy.

A day or so later, Tom returned home from work. Rain had settled on their town for the entire day and it seemed like nature itself was feeling just as melancholy as he was. Thinking about Judy his glance fell on the arrangement sitting on the table. It was as if something had compelled him to look that way. Then it hit him. He was going to send his wife a message! Tom excitedly wrote his note on the ribbons, “To Judy, I love you soooooooooooo much, Love Tom.” He then turned it over and addressed it, “This is for you, Judy, in Heaven.”

Tom walked outside and looked around at the tall majestic trees in front of their house. He dropped his head, said a little prayer then lovingly released the balloon in the air. He blew her a kiss and said, “Judy, here it comes.” Tom watched it float ever higher in the gentle wind until it danced up to the clouds and disappeared from sight. Satisfied with his gesture of love he went back in the house and settled down for the evening….” (This story can be read in its entirety at www.heblewherakiss.com ).

Tom’s story stuck with me. I was so moved by it that I couldn’t stop talking about it to my husband on the way home. I do not believe in coincidences. Knowing that everything happens for a reason, I felt in my heart that I was supposed to hear his story.

After my husband and I arrived home we went to bed. Around 2am I woke up out of a deep sleep with a distinct and tangible thought, “I want to share Tom’s story and collect other stories like his.” I wanted to create a series of books called “He Blew Her a Kiss” in honor of Tom and Judy and his simple gesture of love. I called Tom the next day to tell him about my idea and ask for his blessings. He was thrilled and we spoke several times afterwards discussing the progress.

It has become my passion to help others in the healing process after losing a loved one. I feel that through these stories others might find some kind of peace and comfort knowing that death isn’t the end. It is only the end of our physical bodies. Our spiritual bodies live on forever. After all, we are spiritual beings having a human experience. This especially resonates with me since I have lost both of my parents. In fact, I myself experienced a communication with my mother in a dream which brought about a sincere peace that had eluded me. Comfort from Clarise is my personal story on the website.

When someone that is close to us dies we can’t help but wonder what became of them. Are they alright? What really happens after death and where, if anywhere, do they go? I have no doubt our loved ones can communicate with us after death. Oftentimes it may be overlooked for the simple fact that the average person doesn’t know how to recognize it, or they may not even be open to the idea.

Based on the research of Bill Guggenheim and Judy Guggenheim in their book, Hello from Heaven, the following are the twelve most frequent types of after-death communication (ADC) people reported having with their deceased loved ones: Sensing a presence, hearing a voice, feeling a touch, smelling a fragrance, visual experiences, visions, twilight experiences, ADC experiences while asleep, out-of-body ADC’s, telephone calls, physical phenomena, and symbolic ADC’s.

According to their research, the purpose of these visits and signs by those who have passed away is to offer comfort, reassurance, and hope to their loved ones. They want us to know they are still alive and that we’ll be reunited with them when it’s our time to leave our physical bodies – and that they will be there to greet us on the other side.

I believe from my own reading and research that our loved ones are always with us, keeping a watchful eye. They’re very much alive, just on a different spiritual level, and they don’t want us to worry over their well-being. They attempt to communicate to show us their unwavering love, and the fact that it can and does transcend the only realm we are aware of; the very one we live in from day to day.

As I began to share Tom’s story and my book idea, many started sharing “their” stories. I was encouraged by the number of people who had communications from loved ones who had passed. I decided from a publishing friend’s advice to create a website first before I tried to publish. So, in October of 2009, exactly one year after Judy’s passing, the “He Blew Her a Kiss” website launched. It is dedicated to providing a venue in which others can read and share true experiences of communication with loved ones after death.

I have had numerous people tell me they were afraid to share their experience before, because they didn’t want to be labeled as crazy. But when they found out about my website, and that many others had similar stories, they were extremely excited and much more willing to now share their story.

Communication with a departed loved one is merely an extension of a shared love. All of us have questions and concerns. If we just open our hearts and minds, our loved ones are longing to reassure us that all is well.

This has been an incredible journey for me that 1 year ago, I did not see coming. I believe everyone has been brought here for a purpose and I have finally found mine.

For the last 20 years I have helped others by teaching the life-saving technique of CPR. As you well know, CPR focuses on our heart whose complex rhythm of beats is single-handedly responsible for our physical existence.

Likewise, I believe that our heart can be the bridge to a whole new spiritual dimension. When we suffer the loss of a loved one our heart feels broken and that “damaged” heart can sometimes leave us feeling spiritually void. Although I have thoroughly enjoyed my career, it is my intention through this website to help others heal their heart on a spiritual level as well.

I feel my life being pulled down a completely different path and words cannot express the excitement and gratitude for this journey. The support and love has been amazing and I have already experienced healing firsthand from people. For that, I am very grateful.

It is my intention to share this website with as many people as possible and I hope it will inspire those who have a story, to share it. Your story may be the one that someone needed to read in order to begin healing and move forward in life.
