Relax And Be Patient: Simple Keys To better Health
by John-Roger, D.S.S. with Paul Kaye, D.S.S.
What can you do right now to move towards better health?
Try relaxing and being patient.
Another way to say this is: to let go and let God IS to relax and be patient
What would that look like practically?
Perhaps you might consider that your feeling of sadness or loneliness is a tool for you to know yourself more deeply? Or what if the house burning down is a way God has designed to release you from a lot of wordly attachments and lift your attention to his presence? Or what if all things here are designed for you and not against you? If you can approach life with that creative attitude and openness of knowing that everything is designed for your greatest growth and upliftment, then it will be easier for you to let go and let God? ...
You cannot get away from the essence of Spirit within you. If you try to deny that essence, the result is disturbance and imbalance. The butterflies in your stomach are you placing yourself against yourself. You don't need to do that. You only need to relax, to let go, and to allow the ongoing process of Spirit to take care of you.
Give yourself time to let your life unfold within God's timing and in God's way. Trust the Spirit. Let Spirit do for you what you may not have the wit to do for yourself. God takes perfect care of you, if you will only allow it. Life can be very exciting when you let go and let God, when you relax and are patient. if you push for your way, you can end up with difficulty. If you flow with God's will, you're free.
The Spirit is everywhere. So when you relax a position and let it go, the Spirit, the Light, will fill that space. And when you are attuned to Spirit and are experiencing the love of Spirit, the negativity of others does not matter, and your own negativity does not matter. There is love and forgiveness for everything and everyone.
Your body builds its form around the energy you place out. If you misuse your energy by putting your attention in the wrong place, the body will build its form around it. For example, if you worry a lot, it will be reflected in your tense shoulders and your tight stomach. When you start to use your energy correctly, your shoulders loosen, your stomach relaxes, your energy starts moving into the areas that have been blocked or closed off, and your body starts aligning itself spontaneously. Correct use of energy makes everything liquid, relaxed, and smooth. Your body will line itself up and re-form itself according to your conscious thought and patter of behavior.
If you don't change your behavior, your body will go back to its previous condition. If you're willing to listen and watch, you'll find that your body is not only educating you in how to get well but also showing you how to change the condition that produced the imbalance or illness.
Past habitual activity stays within the cell structure, in various part of your body, and creates pressure within you. One way to handle this is to just keep telling yourself to relax in order to let your muscle, nerve, and fascia structures be healed. This can be a verbal comment that you make to your mind, and you may have to actually lie down and cover your eyes so that the cells begin to quiet.
You can touch your face as a cue that when you tell yourself to relax, all the muscles in and around your eyes and the parts of your body that you designate will relax wherever you are touching them. You could tell yourself that whenever you do that, it will relax the muscles. Then you can take it a step further and say to yourself that every time you think of relaxing through your touch, the muscles, nerves, and fascia will automatically start to release unnecessary pressure and tension and relax. Doing this can bring you to a point where every time a designated area of your body, let's say your shoulders, gets tight, the tightness will automatically trigger a relaxation response. So no matter what situation comes up, as soon as the shoulders tense, relaxation is immediately triggered and the shoulders let go. It may take you awhile to have that response, as it takes practice to reach the point where, in the moment of stress, you just relax and let things flow the way they want to, but it is well worth taking the time to practice.
If your day is busy and you need more energy than what you've woken up, a quick nap can revitalize you. If you're on the go and need an energy boost, you can also take a moment to be quiet and to relax a single muscle. Energy is then released out of the tightness and is available for your use, and now you are ready to go again.
So, whether it be in your work, your play, or your spiritual activities, one of the most important qualities you can bring into your life, in activity or at rest, is relaxation. It is the simplest way to regenerate your energy and move your body into greater health and well-being.
