Finding An Oasis in a Sea of Chaos
by Phyllis Light
How are you managing to cope in these unbelievably stressful times? Are you able to keep your head above water? Or, are you sinking below the surface… perhaps drinking, eating, or smoking more to avoid feeling what’s going on? The energy on the planet has become extremely intense. If you are having a hard time keeping up, you are not alone.
Many of us do our best to be conscious as we move through life. That is, we do our best to be present and aware of what’s going on within and around us. We attempt to feel our feelings and be in touch with our intuition. We strive to be where we need to be, for our Highest good, at any given moment.
Yet, in attempting to be fully aware, it’s easy to feel totally slammed by the enormous amount of negative energy that has manifested on our planet. And as we feel overwhelmed by it all, old programming starts to surface that says, "Get me out of here, I can’t take it anymore." This may not be our conscious desire, but as these thoughts and feelings come up from deep in the subconscious, it’s easy to "run with" and energize them. When this happens, you start sending a message to your body—at the subconscious level of course—to "pack up and go home," and the body starts shutting down in various ways.
The mind is extremely powerful, and if you are dealing with such programming, it will give you what you are asking for and create a way for you to "get out of here." At this point, it is imperative that you take the proverbial bull by the horns, and tell the truth about what’s going on within you. This will allow you to change the direction your life is taking, and turn things around.
What Thoughts Are You Energizing?
Where are you focusing your energy? Are you sitting around and bemoaning how bad things have become for you? Are you constantly complaining about how sick and tired you are of the challenges you face in your life? Or, are you fearful about what’s happening and worry about your future? Or, worry about your health?
To choose to live life consciously means that at some point, you must realize when you are blocked and unable to energize thoughts that would support you in thriving and prospering. You must then change your focus and work on pulling yourself out of the energetic "pit" you have dug for yourself. Only you can do it. You create your reality with your thoughts, attitudes, and beliefs, and whatever you focus on will continue to multiply in your life.
Understanding the Role
of the Subconscious
The subconscious mind plays an important role here. Even if you think positive thoughts all day long, you must still be willing to explore all that is going on within you at a subconscious level. You do this by taking responsibility for all that you experience. If you blame others for what you are feeling, you are missing the growth opportunity inherent in your circumstances. It’s important to understand that whatever you attract, no matter how "bad" or uncomfortable, your Higher Self steered you to that place at that time, so that you could learn and grow.
As you begin to understand this concept and apply it to your daily life, you will start to create that "oasis" amidst a sea of chaos. You will start to realize that you do have a say-so over the direction of your life, and you no longer need to blame the government, Japan, Mother Nature, your neighbor, your boss, your spouse, your kids, or your pet for the ills in your life.
Planetary-wise, we are all going through a period of major growth and transformation, and change rarely comes easily for most human beings. The collective way we do life is up for grabs. The very institutions that have provided us with safety and security for so long, are starting to come under scrutiny. We can no longer do "business as usual" without questioning why we’re doing what we’re doing and if it’s still a viable way to continue on in the future.
We are becoming more aware as a race. And with this increased awareness comes major "growing pains." What changes do I need to make in my world that will make my life better for me… and for everyone else? We are starting to come out of our individualistic world view and think about how our life impacts the lives of everyone else.
What do I need to do to find greater fulfillment within myself? Is there a way I can serve the whole, where my life will feel like it has more meaning and purpose? Many changes are taking place today, within each individual and within our collective social consciousness. And unfortunately, we often embrace those changes only after being forced into a corner and having no other option but to change.
Every Life is Important
In the stress of these times, some of us are getting depressed at what we see. It’s all bigger than I am. How could I possibly help? My life doesn’t seem important or valuable at all. Nothing can ever get us out of this mess, it seems.
When these thoughts come up, take a deep breath, and remind yourself of a Higher Truth, that "every life is important." "I am important. I have value. In sharing my true self with others, I uplift those around me." The Highest path you can take is to be willing to work on yourself to release your inner negativity and be able to focus on positive thoughts that empower you and create joy in your life. The more you do this, the more you contribute to the collective well-being.
We will get through this "craziness" that is upon us. And we will learn and grow tremendously from the experience. The going may seem rough at first, but the more you tap into your inner knowing and learn to trust the process of life, the more you will ride the crest of these huge waves of change that are upon us all.
