The Bliss Mistress Guide: Moments
by Edie Weinstein
We do not remember days, we remember moments." -- Casere Pavese
Sitting in my sun drenched dining room beneath the Tiffany lamp as I am writing these words. Although it is a Bucks County, Pennsylvania late January Saturday afternoon, it feels more like Spring-time with the temperature in the 50’s. Confused sprouts are popping up through the soil, believing that we skipped right past winter. Post gym ‘play out’; much preferring to call it that rather than ‘workout’, since it is far more enticing. Good achy-sore muscles that are stretching as am I internally. Recalling where I was a year ago in my life, a recent adult orphan after the passing of my mother in November of 2010, and putting finishing touches on my Bliss book, hesitant to leap into my new adventures, but feeling them beckoning me nonetheless. Gazing over my shoulder, I see a woman whose foot dragging dug a trench in the dirt until she realized that she had two choices. She could either remain entrenched in the familiar or move forward into the unknown. One of the ‘platitudes’ that I live by is that I have survived everything that has ever happened in my life (and so have you, since you are reading this) so what made me think anything that came next wouldn’t offer amazing opportunities to live my dreams?
Stop action images of friends and family zip through my busy-buzzy mind. Appreciating wondrous interactions with new heart and soul friends, deepening connection with those who have been in my life for longer. Gratitude for both circles that overlap at times. Invitations to come over and play in the ‘yards’ of friends cross country. Visited Phoenix and Sedona this past November, immersing in the whirling, swirling vortex energy of the Red Rocks, checking them off my bucket list. Working on another book even as I share the one already out and about. Birthing all manner of creative ideas. Doors opening as I willingly and without trepidation this time, step through them.
Treasure mapping in my brain (and sometimes on paper) for my evolution-revolution; refusing to believe the monkey mind propaganda that sneered that I wasn’t enough. Blessing the homes for my words (such as Wisdom) since without them, they would simply be scattered to the winds. Divinely designing my destiny into a magnificent masterpiece that stands as an invitation and example for others to do the same.
What are your moments? Are you willing to string them together for your pleasure and the benefit of all life?
