Winter Solstice & The End of the Mayan Calendar

Have you had the feeling that something is shifting in your life, but you can’t quite put a finger on it? Perhaps there is that intuitive sense that something is getting ready to manifest, but it is located just outside your current field of perception. Or it may be that you feel like you are caught between worlds, where you are so ready to be done with the old you, but do not have a handle on the next step.

Well, the energies of an astrology chart cast for the end of the Mayan calendar and the December 21^st winter solstice offers a nudge in a new direction. Although that nudge will feel a bit uncomfortable, you know you have to go there in spite the discomfort. Like it or not, opening to a new reality requires that you move out of your comfortable rut.

There is a Y-shaped pattern in the sky leading up to winter solstice called a Yod. It has a fated tone. It feels like you are moving between a rock and a hard place, but at least you are moving. . Something drives you to the new state of consciousness, but you feel like you are inside a Champaign bottle that is being shaken with a thumb on top. There is a lot of pressure, but no outlet until the thumb is removed.

This Y-shaped energetic pattern uncomfortably drives you towards the outlet. Imagine a divining rod where the handles are represented by the planets Saturn and Pluto. Saturn is passing through Scorpio for the next two years, so you get to restructure the core of your emotional being. Pluto is in Capricorn from 2008 until 2023, so the entire foundation of both your life and society is being transformed at the deepest levels.

Together, they push you towards the focal point of the Y-shaped diving rod. Risk-taking Jupiter is waiting for you at the end. However, Saturn and Capricorn are risk adverse. Pluto and Scorpio want you to burn your bridges behind you, and Jupiter says that it is time to move into the unknown future. It is that feeling where you must go forward even though you cannot clearly see what that forward direction is. Trust your inner guidance and go forward because there is no going back!

Jupiter is the auspicious “Santa Claus” of the zodiac. If you are willing to go beyond limited beliefs and take a risk on creating your higher vision and dreams, the god of blessings will help you. But you must be like Indiana Jones seeking the Holy Grail. You have to take a leap of faith on yourself. You must risk your safe and not-quite comfortable rut to live life as an adventure.

Because there is a mixture of safety and risk taking in the winter solstice energies, the best advice is to take a conservative risk on you. Begin to take half steps towards that unknown force that is calling you from just beyond your field of view. Consider making a vision board collage as a way of bringing that distant vision into conscious perception.
