Astrological Forecast for October 2007

It’s time to catch your breath during October, now that several challenging planetary events have made necessary shifts in your life. This is not to say that it is a quiet month, but that October helps you get moving without a lot of external distractions. The only minor bump is Mercury retrograde beginning on the 11th, a three-week cycle that draws you deeply into your sensitive emotions.

The month begins under a talkative Gemini Moon that urges you to reach out towards new ideas. Schedule meetings over meals on the 2nd and 3rd while partnership planet Venus helps you come into your power through shared experiences.

October’s best days for parties are on Friday and Saturday the 5th-6th. The Moon in Leo wants you to open your heart to others. Enjoy the playful spirit while you can because the world turns practical during the following week of October 7th.

Tend to details in preparation for the coming Mercury retrograde cycle that destroys neatly designed plans. Back up your computer, repair your car, and confirm schedules before the 11th. Think back to your emotional state of being last June 15-July 9 when Mercury was previously retrograde in watery Cancer. Unexpressed or unfinished emotional activations brought to the surface then, now return to the surface from intensely scorpionic depths.

Until November 1st, the intellectual messenger appears to move backwards in "go to the shadows" Scorpio. Allow yourself to be vulnerable and prepare for an emotional release. Bellatrix, in the left shoulder, represents success that comes by facing your shadow. Betelgeuse, the big red star, provides the potential for success when you operate from clarity and integrity. The weekend of the 12th-13th supports anything you are willing to focus upon completely. Whether it is business or romance, intense concentration and serious intent help you get to the core of the matter.

Prepare to go from the emotional depths of the weekend to altruistic philosophical heights as the Moon journeys through Sagittarius from the 14th-16th. Climb a mountain or lunch on the top floor of a scenic-view restaurant to see the higher perspective of your life. Tuesday is especially playful.

This philosophical energy steps up into the highest ideals for the weekend of the 19th. Moon in Aquarius is eccentric and willing to explore new possibilities. It’s ok to be weird on Friday, and then participate in activities that support the goodness of humanity on the 20th-21st. Sunday evening quiets down considerably, so meditate or rent a movie.

Prepare for action on numerous levels from Tuesday the 23rd through the 25th. The Sun begins its month-long journey in Kundilini-energy Scorpio. Will you use this raw power in a sexually provocative way, or transform this base energy into spiritually enlightened insights? Because Mercury is backing into Libra, a balance of the two might be the middle path.

Choose carefully because Thursday’s Full Moon will shine on your wisdom or foolishness. In other words, don’t do anything you wouldn’t want your mother to find out about on the days surrounding October 25th!

On a playful level, this is the perfect time to dress up in your favorite fantasy. On a spiritual level, there is quiet opportunity to open to a sacred vision of humble service. Perhaps you can dress up as your favorite bodhisattva!
