Ask Your Pet
by Jennifer Dickman
Dear Jennifer,
My cat Tomato has been struggling with kidney issues. I’d like to know how she feels and if there’s anything she’d like to tell me. My dog, Eskimo, was recently diagnosed with diabetes. Is she feeling better? Is she happy? I know she doesn’t like the shots, but they’re very important for her. Is there anything she wants to tell me? My kittens are named Salty and Spice. I adopted Spice to be a friend for Salty. Salty has a disorder that makes him wobbly, and my animals weren’t accepting him well. For both kittens, I’d like to know if they’re happy and have anything to tell me.
Thanks,
Carol
Dear Carol,
Before addressing the health-related questions, I need to remind you that I’m not a veterinarian. I can only relay the impressions I receive from your animals, and am not making medical diagnoses or giving medical advice. According to Tomato, she often feels "out of it" and not herself. She wants you to know that she realizes she’ll be crossing over fairly soon. She’s frightened by the changes in her health. In addition to continuing to see your veterinarian, I’d recommend giving Tomato the "Anxiety" and "Transition" flower essence formulas from www.GreenHopeEssences.com. Flower essences don’t interact with medications, and these formulas should help ease her anxiety and make the process she’s going through easier. You can take the essences along with her to ease your own fears.
Eskimo is feeling much better and thanks you for that. She’s generally happy, but hates the shots. I explained that they’re necessary to keep her feeling well. She understands, but would like you to look for possible alternatives. Perhaps a holistic veterinarian could help with this.
Salty says that yes, he’s happy. He feels most happy when he’s snuggling with you or Spice. The one little thorn in his happiness is feeling that Eskimo and Tomato haven’t accepted him. He says he has basically given up on Tomato, but hopes he can build a better relationship with Eskimo. Salty wants to tell you that he loves you and thanks you for finding him and taking such good care of him. He also thanks you for bringing him his best buddy, Spice.
Spice is happy, too. She says her main mission is to be there for Salty, but it’s also to bring more harmony to your family. Spice says she’s irresistible, and she’ll help everyone accept her and Salty. Later, when Salty has more confidence, she’ll start to emerge more as her own being. All Spice asks is that you give her lots of love and meet her basic needs. However, she did mention that she’s empathic and picks up others’ energy very easily; this is sometimes overwhelming. The Green Hope formula "Golden Armour" would help her with this. Also, because of her role with Salty, you might want to give her their "Caretaker" formula. And, with so many furry ones to care for, I’d recommend taking some yourself!
Many Blessings,
Jennifer Dickman
