If... Then...

Steven Pinker, a Harvard psychologist, is famous for his “Pinkerisms”. They can sometimes take the form of something like this:

Ok, read it again if you like. I did. I read it several times. It’s great fun. Once something is learned, like vowels, the brain naturally does its “linking-thing” and “voilà”, meaning is made. A belief, an agreement of understanding whether all the information is present, or not, happens! How information is experienced, IS how it is known, how it is understood. This seems to happen over and over and over again, 24/7. The linking of a “total-information-processing-system, lights on, full speed ahead. We humans come equipped, as an information-processor, like no other – head to toe. Now hold that thought, and consider this one…

IF… as Swiss psychologist Carl Jung believed, and I paraphrase, “One form of life cannot simply be abandoned, unless it is exchanged for another.” THEN… it seems to me you might say, information cannot change, without new information taking its place. Yes?

Ok, 1) so we humans “have or are, an information-processor like no other”, and 2) information replaces information (towards a better, or worse “form of life”). Those two pieces of information (1 and 2), sound “reasonably logical”. Now, let’s add another piece of information….

IF it’s been agreed that “space” is not “empty”, because it’s filled with dark matter and dark energy, and if information “fills itself in”, in the “mind” too, as in the example of the Pinkerism, or Jung’s belief about “one form of life…” THEN, information, whether in space or, directly within one’s “personal orbit”, is serious business to life experience! Depending on the “meaning-stringing-at-any-given-moment”, it IS the “one form of life” experienced, until it isn’t, and another experience has “replaced” it. Evolution?! (Alice’s rabbit hole?) (Has she gone mad, wildly connecting the dots!?) (Is this information-overload!)

Seems information makes the world go round and round and round… Nature is filled with it, and we humans teach it, buy it, sell it; it is the currency of the 21^st Century we stream through technological portals by quadrillions of bits. Meaning is made from it, whether in scientific research or psychological exploration, it is all there reflecting our place in the cosmos – one whole swarming reflecting information soup. WOW – us included.

So what information fills “your space”? Do you know? Do you like it? Is it constructive, or destructive? What information just got caught in “your 360º radar”? Music? “News”? And, in your wildest imaginations, what “information” seems appealing to experience? What’s occurring when you experience “a lightness of being”?

Information permeates the universe…no, maybe information IS the universe; humans included! So, who or what do you think you are now? Your “Comments” continue motivating the exploration…
