Mountain of Light
by Paramananda Ishaya
“First there is a mountain, then there is no mountain, and then is a mountain again.”
First there is a Dream:
The world is the Dream: The world is seen though the eyes of belief, imagination and ideas. Therefore I am separated from it because of belief (what I think of as my self and my world). Perception of everything in the world is colored by identification with the mind which hides stillness with a veil of dreams.
Then there is no Dream:
There is stillness. The mind has stopped and there is only Peace. There is only silence. No Ideas, concepts or beliefs in this no-dream. These clouds still appear in awareness but they are like dream objects that cannot be taken seriously. There is no dream here, there is no world; there is Joy and Simplicity. Laughter arises at the thoughts made so real. Even the little dream self is seen as if it were a puppet or a painted character on a canvas. Let everything come because it all arrives like waves on the Ocean. There is nothing to do but rest and play.
Then there is a dream again:
When the eyes open, the dream is still here. The dream-world is seen with fresh and innocent eyes and it is a beautifully happy-dream. What has changed? This Dream now is free to be enjoyed. By simply ascending without effort and exploring consciousness, this Dream becomes a Happy Dream. This magic happens on its own without doing anything but enjoying the silence to the maximum. The awareness is either on the dream or on the Still Self.
By letting go of control we may not see where the steps lead but they lead to great unknown. By learning to let go, God’s magical path opens up to a path of Joy, where this bright path stands, eternally revealing a life of wonder.
Speaking of Magic and mountains, have you heard of Magic Mountain? It’s a roller coaster ride in Disneyland in the dark. You never know when you drop, go up, turn or if you are going to hit your head on a metal bar above you. It took some trust to get on the ride but once I got on, trust went out the window, it was too late I was going. Looking back, do you know what I Loved most about it? I Loved the unknown mystery. I had no idea what was going to happen and where I was going and I couldn’t control it if I wanted to.
A path of joy is all about enjoying the ride.
