Ask the Astrology Guy
by Reverend Jeff Pica
Dear Astrology Guy,
I have been told that I have two yods in my natal chart. Considering that I do not have any knowledge about the interpretation of the natal chart I did some research. Still, I could not find the exact meaning and interpretation of these yods. Please, would you be so kind to tell me if you are willing to give me, at least, short interpretation. I would really like to point my energy to the right direction.
Thank you in advance.
I was born on November 25th, 1988 at 07:20 AM in Niš, Srbija (Nish, Serbia).
Kind regrads,
Marta
Hi Marta,
Let’s take a quick look at your natal chart.
Your Sun is in Sagittarius, making you an idealistic and philosophical person and a lover of freedom with a great sense of humor. Nosign of the Zodiac has a better sense of humor than Sagittarians. With your Sun conjunct Mercury, communication is vital to you and you have a high degree of mental concentration. Both planets close to the Ascendant shows you present yourself to others as you are, without wearing any masks. Both planets making an opposition to the planet Jupiter magnifies your Sagittarian qualities ofbeing broad minded and an open spirit. And an opposition to the Descendant reveals that you seek these qualities in those you become close to.
Your Moon is in Gemini, showing your need to communicate your emotions, with a need to verbalize them in order to feel connected with them. Your Moon in a stressful opposition aspect to Uranus and Saturn shows that your emotional energy can be scattered in many directions and/or you may hold others at an emotional distance. The opposition aspect is prone to projection, whereas people in your life may exhibit scattered emotions or hold you at an emotional distance.
Your Mars in Aries makes you confident and strong, and located in in the Fourth House shows that much energy is expended in the home and a desire to work hard to improve your environment. In a harsh square aspect to Uranus, Saturn, and Neptune shows a dislike of routine and authority, and your own actions may not always be in your best interests.
You’re right, you have not one, but two Yod aspects in your chart. An uncommon aspect, the Yod, also known as the “Finger of God” aspect, is created when a planet becomes the apex of two other aspecting planets. Planet A and B form an easy sextile aspect to each other and both planets A and B form a motivating quincunx aspect to a third Apex planet C, creating a largeY formation across a chart. People who have a Yod are divinely guided and are here to help others. In such an aspect the guidance you are to give to others is characterized by the qualities of that apex planet and the house it occupies.
Yod One:
Mars in Aries in the Fourth House sextile Jupiter in Gemini conjunct the Descendant and both quincunx an Apex Venus in Scorpio in the Eleventh House.
Mars in Aries gives you your strength and confidence. Your Jupiter in Gemini reveals a need to communicate with others, as well as a need to apply logic and reason, and conjunct your Descendant you will find that growth for you is influenced by your close, personal relationships.
With your Venus in Scorpio, you need to penetrate deeply into a relationship with intense emotional power in order to feel close to another. Conversely, this position of Venus shows you can develop a deeper sense of appreciation for others when you share yourself and your affections when you are part of a group, especially with friends. There is a difficulty in feeling full, so many with this placememt of Venus have a tendency to fill up their needs by taking in more and more. Your apex Venus will manifest when you turn that tendency around, and instead of looking to fill an inner void learn to let go and give of yourself.
Combining your strong Mars with your Jupiter that wants to relate and respect other people, there is, therefore, the great potential to change your entire approach to love and relationships. An apex Venus tells us that your divine guidance to others is that you are capable of influencing the values of others in a way that helps them improve their own welfare.
Yod Two:
Venus in Scorpio in the Eleventh House sextile Uranus in Sagittarius and Saturn in Capricorn in the First House and both quincunx an Apex Jupiter in Gemini conjunct the Descendant.
Venus sextile Uranus and Saturn shows an easy balance between seeking the freedom and space one needs in a relationship vs. the responsibility and work necessary to any successful partnership, including friendships.
You may have started out in life feeling out-of-tune with laws and morals that you were expected to comply with. With a Jupiter apex Yod you will find yourself having social influence that not only is growth promoting for you influenced by your close, personal relationships but those involved with you will also find that growth.
As you can see both Yods are made up of some of the same planets, linking both Yods to each other, where one influences the other. Your chart shows that as you grow and learn to give of yourself instead of trying to take more in, you will find yourself maturing and in turn influencing the growth of others. The more you grow and learn of yourself, the more growth you will inspire among the people around you. The more you give of yourself, the more you will receive from others.
I hope this has helped.
Jeff
Marta’s Response:
Dear Jeff,
Thank you, this was very helpful! In this particular period, I am actually feeling a need to change, open, self-improve and get to know myself, so I believe that everything is flowing on its natural course.
And again, thank you very much.
Kind regards,
Marta
