Wise, mysterious visitors selected Lisette Larkins for spiritual initiation in fall of 1987. I couldn’t believe it was morning already. I immediately searched the drawer of my bedside table and was thrilled to find a small pad and a pen. I excitedly began scribbling words that the ETs had communicated. It was all so utterly glorious! There on my bed, now propped up on my pillow, I wrote as fast and as furiously as I could.

When finished, I jumped out of bed and ran out the door. I rushed down the hallway past patients in wheelchairs and orderlies calling my name. I ignored them all and raced into the large room where “group” session was in full swing. As I burst in on them, a sea of shocked faces gawked at seeing me still in my pajamas.

“There you are!” Dr. Ventura called to me. “I was beginning to wonder if we’d lost you,” he said in a scolding tone, implying that he would speak to me later about my tardiness.

Scott motioned for me to sit in the empty chair next to him, and I happily obliged, proudly glancing at my notes as though I were about to present an award-winning speech.

Returning his attention to Lenny, Dr. Ventura said, “Okay, where were we? Lenny, please continue.”

Noticing my Cheshire cat grin, Lenny pounced on me. “What’s wrong with you?” he jeered in a challenging voice.

“I figured it out!” I said with a flourish of my notepad. “I remember them,” I said, beaming like a small child. “I was little when it happened the first time, but then I forgot, until I saw them again just now. But they’re back . . . they’re my friends!” I said excitedly.

“Would you mind explaining what you are talking about?” Dr. Ventura said in a loud voice, interrupting my moment.

“The loud vibrations, the blinding lights! It’s them . . . what I mean is, it’s theirs . . . they have a completely different—”

“Who?” Dr. Ventura bellowed, losing patience with my rambling speech and holding a hand in the air to quiet the other patients’ comments and snickers.

“Extraterrestrials,” I said loudly, with no apology. “I was a child when they first made contact. Until now, all I remembered was that once, long ago, a shadow had passed over me while playing outside on the lawn. But even then, I knew that someone or something was trying to break through to me.”

The chattering and comments stopped short as the room fell silent.

“They don’t look like us, but they do speak . . . but not with their mouths,” I said, relieved to finally explain my claims, the unexplainable. Waving my notepad in the air as though it was sufficient proof of I continued. “I can hear them, and they can hear me, too. It’s so extraordinary!” I said, as tears of joy and relief welled up in my eyes. Now it all made perfect sense.

Lisette Larkins has had extraordinary extraterrestrial encounters since childhood.
