Divine Wisdom from Michele Livingston

Dear Jeanette,

First my condolences go out to you and your family because there’s really nothing like the loss of a child. From the spiritual perspective, God does not punish anyone by letting accidents happen. The Creative Power called God is a source of pure unconditional love and wisdom—the polarity of light. Many consider an accident an experience that is outside of their control—an event where fate or chance steps in. There are no accidents in the metaphysical sense! Those individuals who pass quickly in accidents have accomplished what they’ve needed to learn on the earth plane, and it’s time for their souls to make transition. This could also be a prearranged soul agreement, between the parents and their child, a husband and wife, siblings and so on, so that the family can learn emotional strength or faith by joining together.

It is not for us to consciously ask why an accident happens, only to have the faith to know that it is the will of the soul and that the mission for this incarnation has been accomplished. A soul, which is conscious electromagnetic energy, retains its mind, personality and memory bank. It chooses a lesson or life theme each time for soul progression. If the theme is to learn patience, for example, you can be sure that one’s patience will be tried and tested until he or she is aware of it! The same goes for humility, tolerance, perseverance, courage and so on. Many souls are here to serve and heal humanity, and some have chosen to be innovators in science and technology. Other souls have chosen to lend their time to conservation, global changes or creative pursuits such as writing, art, music and dance.

When the mission for that lifetime is accomplished, the soul mind will decide to exit and progress in the next dimension. This, of course, is "soul knowledge" and not conscious knowledge. Since we pick our date of birth and choose our time to cross over, we also choose how we will pass on. When a person lingers before death, there may be some unresolved issues that need to be addressed. Those souls who are really ready to start anew in the fourth dimension tend to leave fairly quickly—like in an accident. Again, this is not consciously chosen but chosen by one’s eternal soul. Every second in this country someone’s relative or friend dies in some form of an accident. Tragic accidents and death occur only in appearance—many souls are removed from the scene of the accident or place of death before the accident takes place! So rest assured that at the point of physical death, there is no pain or suffering—the soul is greatly aided and assisted by the rescue angels and by other souls. Also souls that choose to die quickly in accidents tend to help others that pass in a similar manner to get to the light of the fourth dimension. Often, when I’m doing a reading, a loved one who has passed in an accident will clap their hands to get my attention and let me know they passed quickly. They all tell me that they chose "soul-wise" to leave this way, for whatever reason, and are in the light and love of God.

It is important to pray for all souls who have crossed. It doesn’t matter in what manner they have made transition. Remember, there is no prayer that goes unheard, and departed souls need our prayers for peace and progression.

My beloved indoor-outdoor cat, Cleo, went to heaven two years ago. Boy do I miss her! Sometimes when I was working in my summer garden, Cleo would bite off a flower (usually a daisy), bring it to me and drop it at my feet! It was her way of gifting me with something I love. Your column is mainly about people, but what about a cat bringing a gift from the spirit world? Is that possible? I live alone and she was my best friend—hard to replace. Last Christmas Eve I was bundled up in front of the fire with a cup of tea, reminiscing about our life and adventures together over the last 17 years. Something, I have no idea what, propelled me to go to the kitchen door. I turned on the outside light and looked down. There on my step in the cold night air was (believe it or not) a single daisy! I was stunned. I opened the door and picked it up, put it in a tiny vase and placed it on my mantel with the Christmas greens. It brought tears to my eyes and I new in my heart that it was from Cleo. I was afraid to tell anyone for fear they would think I’m crazy. The only one I mentioned it to was my best human friend who also has and loves cats. She told me that it was a gift of love from Cleo for the holidays. I read human souls can manifest things, but what do you think of a cat bringing such a miraculous gift?

Dear Emma,

You are truly blessed! As an animal lover, especially of felines, I absolutely feel without a doubt that the daisy was a gift influenced by your beloved Cleo. Cats are very evolved and telepathic creatures. They can absorb their caretakers distress and negativity and are natural healers. Once we love and befriend an animal, their energy does not leave us. One could say the wind blew the daisy right out of a Christmas arrangement and it just happened to land on your kitchen step. That may be true, but in any case, just know your precious Cleo inspired the gift. I do believe in miraculous things happening, and I believe that life in general will provide us with many signs that departed souls still love us and that love is eternal.
