For those who do not believe in an afterlife the notion that we somehow survive physical death is perceived as preposterous or the product of wishful thinking. After all, we are conscious because we have brains, and when that brain dies we cease to exist forever.  However, what if it were shown that our minds (consciousness, if you prefer) are not dependent upon the brain and can act independently?

That is exactly what research over the last one hundred years has shown.  The existence of mind to mind communication has been established, which shows that our consciousness does not reside solely in our skulls.  Remote viewers can “visit” distant targets and then describe them in accurate detail, not limited by time and space constraints.  People can go out of their bodies while in the dream state, during near death experiences, and in meditation, and report veridical experiences and evidence that can be investigated and validated.  Distant healing is not a theory, as it has been validated by scientific research.

Mediums are people who claim to be able to communicate with those who have physically died.  The theory is that, since our consciousness continues after we physically die, mediums communicate telepathically with discarnate entities.  This differs from how we generally think of telepathy only in the fact that one of the communicators no longer has a physical body.  Mediums describe various ways in which they receive such information and it appears that a connection must be made among the medium, discarnate, and sitter.

People commonly are under the misconception that mediums are all the same and exhibit equal degrees of accuracy in bringing forth evidential information, as if they all had a direct phone connection to the dead.  In actuality, nothing could be further from the truth.  In my opinion based upon a decade of observation and evidence evaluation, 85-90% of all people who claim to be mediums cannot do what they claim.  Some have small degrees of intuitive ability, others are under-developed, and some are deceptive and fraudulent.  However, that does not detract from the fact that some mediums can indeed communicate with those who have physically died, and do it with incredible accuracy and clarity.

So how do we identify these mediums and evaluate the evidence?  Scientists and researchers, beginning more than 100 years ago with the British and American Societies for Psychical Research and continuing today in major universities and private institutes, have done such work.  The research has confirmed the existence of such communication.  Forever Family Foundation, in an effort to protect the public and provide a reliable resource for the bereaved, filled a void and embarked upon a medium evaluation certification process in 2005 and continues the process today.  Mediums are screened and evaluated under controlled conditions, using trained sitters, and only those exhibiting extremely high levels of accuracy gain certification.  These mediums are listed on the Certified Mediums page at the Forever Family Foundation website www.foreverfamilyfoundation.org
