Teachings of The Brotherhood of Light Workers: Serenity

The following segment has been received, word for word through a psychic process known as channeling. It is an invited procedure. The teachings always serve to guide us through the journey of life.
It is in times of great crisis, when the ceiling seems to be caving in and the flood waters rising, that is exactly when you must cultivate the deepest response of inner peace. It is not for nothing that earth-life has these moments, for these are the greatest teachings and the times of most rapid advancement.
In the exact moment of distress is also your greatest power. When you can stop the panicky thought dead in its tracks for the merest minute, and reformulate the event as not overwhelming but as self-created, then you have learned the switchover mechanism by which you can control the remainder of your days. Until you are able to do this IN THE MOMENT you linger in the malaise of the planet: the feeling that you are helpless against events.
But when you can adjust your mind on a moment's cue you will begin to see life otherwise, as that great game you decided to play with yourself, so full of drama and emotion, so full of crisis and opportunity! You will see your experience as adjustable, mutable, designed for your advancement. It doesn't mean the roof won't keep caving in; it means that you will encounter the event quite differently... and all choice is then placed in your hands and not in nature's. This is the real switchover.
Practice this response mechanism in the small matters of your days. Then in the great ones, it will be second nature. What this actually means is that you have become a force of nature, a flowing, composed, and instantaneously responsive reactor to the moment's requirements. You, in effect, do nothing. But that is a consequence of having done everything in the inner mind beforehand. Then, truly, "nothing happens". You remain you, come what may. All nature wraps around your will, and there is neither self nor other, only presence.
