There are an unusual number of planets retrograde this month, giving us all the opportunity to identify and get on track with what’s really important to us, and what’s really important to do to support our stability.

What a Monday morning Monday May 9th is! First there’s a rare transit of Mercury crossing over the Sun, a BIG OMEN that what’s beginning is important and born of the seeds of brilliant ideas…then Jupiter going direct: energy and opportunity now appearing!

Friday the 13th is another stellar day: Mercury conjunct Venus, a sign of finding sympatico partners, and finding partners sympatico!  A strong May theme is clearly seeing who is good for you and who is a drag on you, and then heading in the direction of those who support you.  Venus is trine Pluto, and that give us creative courage. 

More on Friday the 13th, which also turns out to be Stephen Colbert’s birthday according to Jim Maynard’s Celestial Calendar. If it’s your birthday too, Mercury conjuncts Venus on that day: expect to have an especially creative year. It’s a very good night for anyone to go out on a date, have a good time, and find love! (For Stephen Colbert, the Mercury retrograde on his birthday means his show will be a giant success in 2017, compared to 2016.)

There’s much shedding of things, changes and adjustments before the full moon in Sagittarius, May 21st. It’s also Armed Forces Day, with the moon  conjunct Mars, the planet of war, conflict and aggression. Don’t bring a gun to work!  It can be a great party night but this aspect also incites warlike actions. It’s a highly reactive time, when people can misread cues. It’s best to be a laid-back person and sail through others’ inconsistencies…choose to enjoy people and have fun that weekend.
