How to Find God’s Love in Your Life
by Bob Lawton
Do you have a soul? Or are you Soul, having a human experience? It’s an interesting twist in viewpoint.
Here’s another good question: Is there a God? Or is it like missing the forest for the trees because all is God?
The mind can get lost in mental gymnastics. Many minds have. One of the best minds—that of physicist Steven Hawking—does not believe God exists at all.
None of this matters if you are among the forty-one percent of Americans who, according to a 2002 Gallup survey “have had a profound religious experience or awakening that changed the direction of your life.” You know—without doubt—that God’s love exists because you have experienced it yourself.
God’s love may have lifted your heavy heart, given solace and healing, or provided protection. Perhaps you saw an inner light, heard celestial music, or had an out-of-body or near-death experience.
God’s love tends to spill over into the life of the one so touched. You can’t keep it in. You get inspired to serve others, or to compose music, paint, or write something creative.
Everyone experiences God’s love in a unique way. A common thread among those touched by God’s love is a sense of open-heartedness. They are able to give and receive love with greater compassion than ever before.
What about the rest of us? Maybe we haven’t had a dazzling spiritual experience, but we know deep inside our hearts that God’s love is real.
Want to get in touch with that love?
A weekend spiritual seminar titled “How to Find God’s Love in Your Life” is sponsored by Eckankar, Religion of the Light and Sound of God, and open to people of all faiths who want to explore the topic.
You’ll hear speakers share simple techniques to contact God’s love—practices you can try in the privacy of your own home. The seminar is an opportunity to explore the spiritual nature of ourselves as Soul through workshops, discussions, talks, and creative arts. Guests are welcome to attend for free.
Visit the newcomers’ workshop titled “Exploring the Secret Path to Heaven” on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. at the Cromwell Radisson Hotel, or attend the talks, workshops, or book discussions throughout the weekend covering past lives, dreams, and Soul Travel techniques.
Friday’s workshop is titled “Soul’s Quest for God Consciousness” and takes place at the Eckankar Temple of Connecticut in Middlefield. Saturday’s workshop is “Techniques to Experience God’s Love in Your Life.”
