Ask the Astrology Guy
by Reverend Jeff Pica
Dear Astrology Guy,
I have read some of your articles, and have a question concerning focal points in kites. As it is, It seems like I have both a Grand Trine [aspect] and a Yod [aspect], both of them being Kites [aspect] centered on the same Sun/Pluto Opposition.
I am a bit unsure about how to look at such an aspect.
I was born in Copenhagen on April 14th 1980, at 8:10 am.
thank you!
Dan
Hi Dan,
To start off, you have a very interesting and complex chart. I see two Yods, one Grand Trine, one T-Square, and one Opposition which boils down to two configurations (1) one Yod inside of a Grand Trine that becomes a Kite and (2) another Yod inside of a T-Square.
A Yod, also called the "Finger of God Aspect" gives an individual the ability to act as guidance towards others. A Grand Trine is a set up of aspects that form a triangle of fluid, positive energy. A T-Square is a configuration of aspects that form a large T across a chart, creating active and somewhat challenging circumstances. And an Opposition is a strong aspect of compelling yet resistant energy.
All these complicated and varied aspects involve the same planets. I wouldn't say your chart centers on your Sun Pluto opposition though. What it appears is that all the aspects work together to describe one central theme. In other words, you can't look at one aspect by itself since they all interact. To me, everything in your life, your ups and downs, challenges and successes all work as a unit, a forceful dynamic.
Take for example your T-square, (Saturn in the Fifth House opposed Mercury in the Eleventh House, and both Saturn and Mercury square Neptune in the Seventh House) shows there are mental and social issues in your life to examine. Perhaps your mental thoughts are too rigid (Saturn opposed Mercury) or are subject to confusion or to miscommunication (Saturn and Mercury square Neptune.) A positive outcome of this T-square is for you to strive for a mind that is both structured and adaptable, at the same time. Because parts of your T-square being parts of your two Yods would tell me that the very steps you take to work out your T-square serve as guidance to others, a teaching by example.
A Grand Trine is three planets all in the same element (Fire, Earth, Air, or Water) and within a 7 degree orb of each other, energizes all three planets and the Houses they're in to work together as a team. Having a Fire Grand Trine (Sun in the Eleventh House, Mars in Leo in the Fourth House, and Neptune in Sagittarius in the Seventh House) involved as part of your T-square and Yods shows that an easy energy surrounds all these issues, helping things along to promote effective change, for yourself and others. A Kite aspect is formed when a planet of a Grand Trine is in an Opposition aspect to another planet, creating a large Kite formation across your chart. A Kite in your chart tells me these changes are quite profound and powerful (Pluto opposed the Sun) affecting you and others at a soul level.
You have a remarkable chart. You must feel some sense of purpose, a driving force that encourages you along. The apex planets of both of your Yods are in the Eleventh House, meaning the direction your life energy goes toward is to groups of people, ideals, aspirations, friends, humanity in general.
I hope this has helped.
Best,
Jeff
