Ask the Astrology Guy
by Reverend Jeff Pica
Hi Astrology Guy,
I noticed that you answered a question about Yod astrology, and was wondering if you would care to take a look at mine.
I was born May 18, 1984 at 4:41 pm in Reading, Pennsylvania (Community General hospital).
Best,
Tiffany
Hi Tiffany,
I'd like to take a quick look at your natal chart before diving right in to your question about your Yod. It's important to look at the chart as a whole and consider the other aspects and placements as well.
What a lovely chart you have! Your Sun is conjunct (close to) the planet Venus (the planet of love and good times ;) a very pleasant pairing, seeking peace, harmony, and grace. To boot, your Moon is conjunct planet Jupiter, (another amiable combination) giving you the capacity for deep and broad emotions, abundance, and an affable gregariousness. Your Moon/Jupiter pairing is conjunct the Fourth House Cusp (also called the Nadir, the bottom of the chart) in Capricorn, and makes a Square aspect to the Ascendant, making you Earth Mother, an organized woman in the home, caring and giving and everyone's friend. A Libra Rising (or Ascendant) is what gives you your finesse and elegance, and your Sun/Venus pairing in the Eighth House adds a sexy demeanor and charisma. Pluto makes an opposition to your Mercury, giving you the abilities of a sleuth, with a very powerful and profound sense of mentality and mind.
The Yod (also called the "Finger of God" aspect) is a special aspect for the reason being it indicates that you yourself are a curative vessel, a source of guidance to others. What a Yod does is sets up two planets in an easy aspect to each other while both make a stressful aspect to a third planet, making that planet the Apex of the Yod, and creating a large Y formation across the chart. The lesson one is to learn is characterized by the qualities of that Apex planet. For you, your Neptune and Pluto make a sextile (easy) aspect to each other, and both make a quincunx (stressful) aspect to your apex Sun in Taurus in the Eighth House, conjunct Venus in Taurus.
Those with an Apex Sun usually started out life with a low self image, feeling out of tune. You may struggle inside with self-consciousness. One of your purposes in life is to continuously make personal adjustments and self-corrections to balance any self-conscious and self-centered attitudes. The lesson your Apex Sun Yod asks you to learn is to evolve the way you demonstrate your will, power, creativity, and authority. Your Sun conjunct Venus makes Venus an important part of your Yod, involving your love life, complicating matters somewhat since one's love life is often a perplexing arena. Your Venus receives an opposition aspect from the pairing of your Saturn and Mars in Scorpio in the Second House. This coupling of planets in opposition to Venus will expose a push/pull dynamic to your love life. There is a hesitancy to involve yourself on a personal one-on-one level, yet there's a desire for connection, a frustrating tension between running hot, running cold, or being subject to any outside blocking influence to a relationship. If you do not identify this way, then you may altogether always meet a love interest who is this way, therefore in effect experiencing these trappings. Effectively, your own growth surrounding the lessons learned in navigating the ups and downs of relationships is the guidance you give to others. You may not even be consciously aware of this guidance - it may be as subtle as your own particular viewpoint or the advice you give others. Sitting with a girl friend over coffee talking about men could virtually be a healing reality for you both.
This incarnation could grant you the special ability to reorganize your central core of being in a vitally productive and creative fashion. Speaking of incarnations, your past life, in my feeling, was one of a transient wayfarer, an independent traveler and seeker of higher truths from your South Node in Sagittarius conjunct planet Uranus in the Second House (but influencing the Third House.) In reaction, and as a balance, this incarnation asks you to still seek higher states of consciousness and expand your awareness, although this time being a bit more anchored and present, with North Node in Gemini in the Eighth House (but influencing the Ninth House) conjunct the Sun.
I hope this has helped.
My Best,
Jeff
Hi Jeff,
It certainly has helped, and I am very grateful for your time and considerations.
thanks again,
Tiffany
