The Healing Power of Past Life Recall and Dreams
by Mike DeLuca
More than 1.1 billion people in the world believe in reincarnation –that Soul takes on a new body, each time its former physical body can no longer sustain itself. I am one of those billion, not because of faith but because of actual experiences, experiences that have helped me prove the immortal nature of my true self, Soul, and the myriad of lifetimes I have experienced to become who and what I am today.
Dreams are a wonderful opportunity for Soul to explore Its past lives. Our dreams can shine a light on the lessons and talents that help us progress more quickly in our spiritual awakening. They also can help us face the fears and imbalances that held us back in the past, but are now opportunities to grow beyond these limitations in this lifetime.
Years ago, I yearned to understand why I had such a fear of the dark –an overwhelming, claustrophobic panic when I went to sleep in pitch black darkness. I asked my spiritual mentor, Harold Klemp, to help me understand this fear and resolve it. One night, I lay in bed singing HU, an ancient love song to God. Then I drifted off to sleep. Immediately I had a dream that I was hovering over a young boy who was lying motionless in bed in a very primitive house. A family was surrounding the bed mourning what appeared to be the death of this young boy. I realized that I as Soul had inhabited the body of that boy in that particular past lifetime.
The scene shifted and I was aware of being placed inside a roughly constructed coffin. The coffin was then lowered into a large hole in the ground. Then the hole was filled with dirt, some prayers were said, and the family walked away in tears. Suddenly I became aware of being awake in the body of the boy, inside the coffin! I had not died but had been in some sort of coma. I screamed in panic in the pitch black and claustrophobic confinement of the coffin. I beat and clawed at the lid of the coffin in absolute terror.
Suddenly I was aware of the voice of my spiritual mentor calming me down. He told me to breathe slowly and deeply while singing the HU Song. He asked me to relax and slow my heart beat until I was totally relaxed. In an instant my heart stopped and I immediately was lifted into a wonderous swirl of light and sound. I awoke in my bedroom in the present and all of that claustrophobic fear from the dark had dissolved. I was free!
Through dreams we can visit past lifetimes and heal the experiences that bring us fear in the present, in order to have a future of greater liberation and happiness. I will be discussing this more in my talks at the Massachusetts ECKANKAR Regional Seminar on February 2-4, 2018 at the Sheraton Springfield Monarch Hotel.
