Ask Your Pet

Dear Jennifer,

I have three cats: Julep, Orange, and Butter. I also have an aging dog, Millie. Millie has been having some health issues, and seems irritable with the cats. Julep seems to be afraid of her. Would you please ask Julep if she’s afraid of Millie? Also, is there anything else she wants to tell me? Is she happy…I’d also love it if you could check in with my cat Cassie, who passed away last year. Does she hear me when I speak to her? Can she send me a sign? Is she happy?

Dear Eleanor,

Julep says Millie is "too nosy into the cats' business" and is a bit afraid of her. But, she realizes she can't change her and has to trust you to protect her. She feels trust is an issue for her, and while she doesn’t like Millie’s irritability, it’s helping her with a life lesson of learning to trust. Julep is mainly afraid of what will happen if Millie attacks her or Orange or Butter and no one is there. But, she's hoping she'll be able to sense if Millie goes into a really bad state and just run away and hide.

Beyond that, Julep seems happy. She loves you, and she loves having Orange and Butter there with her, although sometimes she likes time to herself, too.

Julep says she knows you can't fix Millie and it’s okay. She loves you and loves being part of your family. She feels like sometimes you worry about them all so much that you get overwhelmed, and she says for her part, she wants you to relax and just enjoy her and not worry about her so much. She's fine.

When I ask her if she has any other message for you, she says to tell you to trust your instincts. I'm not sure what she's talking about in particular, but that's what she's saying.

Cassie: Cassie says she loves you very much and yes, she still hears you. She tries to give you signs, but mostly all she can do is send energy and love and try to make it strong enough that you feel her.

Cassie says she's happy in Spirit, although she misses being with you physically. But, she's going to wait there until it's a better time to come back, and so she can watch over you all. She wants to tell you to be strong and take good care of yourself.

Cassie is saying now that she loves you so much and not to doubt yourself about your care of your furry family. There are some little interactions you miss between Millie and the cats, but nothing serious that she’s witnessed. Cassie wants to reassure you that you're taking good care of everyone, and asks you to please make sure you take good care of yourself, too. She loves you and misses you and says you'll always be her Mommy and sister and best friend.
