What the Angels Want Us to Know: May 2019

I am so grateful that I discovered angel spirituality in the early 2000s. They have been so tremendously helpful to me as a black female indie artist, and one who deals with mental health and trauma issues. My work is to get through the rough times, and remain creative no matter what. I try to teach what I learn, and spirituality is a big part of my daily maintenance as well as recovery from my conditions as well as the many and often intense curve balls life throws to us all!

Even though she has since done away with the angelic domain as a source of her spiritual strength, sustanance and guidance, I am still very grateful to Doreen Virtue for having done the work she did to lead millions to these non-denomenational beings of love and light.

Doreen only espouses the Fundamentalist Christian path now, and as with many others who still embrace and trust the New Age/Ancient Wisdom belief system, I am sticking with my angels!

It's interesting to me that I, who was reared Fundamentalist Christian (and greatly harmed by it, in my opinion), am an eclectic New Age pagan who believes in angels, and Doreen Virtue, who was reared Christian Scientist, now believes in only Jesus Christ.
I believe whatever path we choose for ourselves is best for us. I hold no judgement and have no issue with people believing in whatever they wish to believe, as long as their faith and practice do not impede on the rights and comfort of others to believe as they too wish.

I learned years ago that angels are "the arms and thoughts of God."

I believe angels are concepts, and that they are neutral, and here to help us when we call upon them. One of the nicest things I ever read was that "angels are bored, and underworked!" I love the idea that there are millions or actually many more of them, just waiting around for us to call upon them. I believe it!

Here are some things the angels want us to know right now:

1) Are you feeling trapped? Are you living in a situation where you feel like you can't leave? Do you wish you had more financial independence, or were stronger in various ways? Say, "Angels, please help me!" and listen for the answer...

The angels want us to know that prayer is where it's at! Pray without ceasing, as it says in the bible, and don't get stuck on what your praying "should" look, be, or sound like. You don't have to be perfectly informed of what terms or scripture to use. Just talk as you would with any friend. The angels say that when we pray, we are given answers and one step to do. The more often we pray, the more steps we are given, and the quicker we can get out of any situation we find ourselves in. The answer is in the prayer.

2) The angels want us to know that gratitude is one of the most powerful and effective spiritual practices. As with meditation, the more you practice gratitude, the more often you'll find yourself doing it. Gratitude as a spiritual practice, the angels say, is a secret boost to longevity, beauty, and helps to miraculously turn difficult situations around. No matter what is happening in your life, no matter how challenging, you can help get through it by simply finding something to appreciate in the moment.

3) The angels want us to find places to put our love. Sometimes, when you are challenged or have been hurt by others in your path, in childhood, or even in a recent break-up, you may forget to love. You may do your day to day survival routine, and forget to find someplace to put your loving energy, and to risk being hurt again. Sometimes, if the trauma has been intense, you may have already decided to stay closed off and shut down to others, because it's safer that way - no one can hurt, disappoint, or abandon you. But it's important to open up, to get close to people and learn to love again. Yes, you will be disappointed at some point, the angels want you to know - but that's just because people are humyn, and by our very natures we are imperfect. And we will disappoint one another from time to time. The key is to change your thinking from "imperfect humyns" to "perfectly imperfect humyns." Don't stop contributing your time, money, energies, and love to people, projects, and organizations that you feel called to. Give of yourself anyway, and do so joyously, while simultaneously knowing that should a disappointment come, it is only because someone was being perfectly humyn. And that's ok!
