Astrological Forecast for August 2020
by Lou Valentino
August is here and that means hot weather continues for beach goers and the school year is about to start.
Social justice starts off this month with a full Moon in Aquarius at 11 degrees (11:59AM EDT) just before Noon.
This full Moon in Aquarius opposing Sun in Leo both square to Uranus in Taurus forms a T-square showing more tensions between what the public wants verses what the leaders of the free world want.
If you have Sun, Moon or rising in Aquarius you are feeling stuck sometimes between what you personally want and what others expect from you. Uranus at the eye of the T-square is not helping as the fixed signs of Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, and Aquarius want things to remain the same but Uranus wants a change.
The fixed sings, especially Aquarius and Leo, find the lesson of balance is important for August leading into the first week of September.
The cardinal signs are Aries, Cancer, Libra, and Capricorn. They enjoy movement by starting something. These are the power cables that jump start the batteries of the other signs.
Since Jupiter, Pluto and Saturn are all in Capricorn in this full Moon chart, the federal and state government bodies are busy. The federal government should have all the details ironed out by the full Moon on August 3rd for the new stimulus plan that can keep the economy floating.
I have to say, that after looking at the U.S.A chart, the progressed Moon in Capricorn in the second house of money and material values will conjunct the U.S.A’s natal Pluto between August 11 to September 7 which peaks on August 25, 2020.
This is about money issues. Uranus in Taurus has not helped maintain balance in the stock market. The wide swings of ups and downs caused by unexpected (Uranus) pandemic has thrown a complex situation into the financial lives of everyone.
The questions that both the full Moon T-square and progressed Moon conjunct Pluto are: Will the economy be able to support small businesses? Can we continue unemployment benefits for those who are still on furlough or have recently been told to move to furlough?
Remember, most of the conversations over the past 4 months have been about the virus not about the economy. This combination of aspects in the full Moon chart brings economic conversations up. The attentions on the economy have not been enough and the pain will be more noticed and talked about through August but especially in the last week of August.
I’m a little concerned about the grand crosses created by cardinal signs mentioned earlier. Mars is in Aries and it will station retrograde on September 9, 2020. Mars, when out of balance, creates violence and anger. We have seen more violence breaking out in America since Mars entered Aries on June 28 and will remain in Aries till the beginning of January 2021 because of the retrograde period from September 9 till November 14 and not out of its retrograde shadow till January 2, 2021 just before moving into Taurus on January 7, 2021.
Mars can also cause (METASTASIS) of health issues. Not good for wanting the virus to calm down for the beginning of the school year. But the good news is Mars will be conjunct the part of fortune in this full Moon chart and Libra is filling in the eye of tensions coming from 8 T-squares if you consider the rising sign of the chart. Most astrologers do not consider anything, but planets involved in a T-square.
Libra supplies the balance while Aries wants to fight. Libra rising in this full Moon chart as well as the part of fortune conjunct Mars could calm the virus down just when we think it's getting out of control.
America is at a breaking point regarding violence being used in protesting. With the tensions in this full Moon chart, we will see more pressure from the federal government to bring order back to chaos before it also grows (Metastasis). Don’t we already have enough problems with the virus?
We are at a breaking point in September regarding the pandemic. I will talk more about this in my September column. The full Moon tensions could create weather erratic patterns, earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, and floods. Pray, meditate, and listen to the hymes of the Rig Veda to offset the danger before it arises.
Those born under the cardinal signs can follow the guidelines more seriously and the fixed signs must let go of any emotional pain or resentments, so the immune system is not compromised. Both the fixed and cardinal signs are mentioned earlier in this article.
Venus moves into the home loving and family-oriented sign of Cancer on August 7 till September 6th. This will allow those with Sun, Moon or rising in Cancer to enjoy the last beach days of the summer with family and friends.
Cancer is a loving/nurturing sign that also is affiliated with restaurant/hotel hospitality services. Look for a better time between August 7 to September 6 for owners and employees in these businesses that have taken a hard hit from the virus.
Uranus will station retrograde on August 15, 2020 and we have all the transcendental planets, Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto in retrograde motion. These planets are more concerned with the collective consciousness of the world. Larger issues of social change and equality (Uranus), unconditional love and spirituality (Neptune) and transformation/death (Pluto).
Uranus in Taurus is transforming the way we use money and what abundance means in our lives. Neptune wants more compassion towards one’s fellow man. Pluto wants those things that no longer serve us to be released, cleansed, and forgiven.
It is Uranus that is creating swings in the stock market and will continue to do so till it leaves Taurus in 2026. However, Taurus knows how to keep the money coming in even when there are serious issues like a virus that could trip it up. So, no worries for now.
We must wait till September 14 when Pluto stations direct and starts calm some of the pain and tensions down in the world. I will talk more about this in September.
The new Moon on August 18 is in Leo at 26 degrees (10:42PM EDT). Leo wants to be noticed and admired. If you're having a romantic relationship or you have a boss that is born under the sign of Leo, flatter them. They love to be flattered. They do not like to be criticized all the time. They love to be admired.
The new Moon chart is more relaxed than the full Moon chart. We get a nice break on August 18 till the next full Moon on September 2. The sign of Leo is going through an adjustment either with work or in their personal life or both at the same time.
Trines flowing from Sun, Moon and Mercury in Leo to Mars in Aries shows physical energy is flowing and health is good for the signs of Leo and Aries. Creativity is high and some tensions come from a creative project you may be working on.
There is a feeling of new beginning’s with new Moon’s. This new Moon chart is the beginning of the school year as parents prepare their children to feel comfortable going back to school in those states that allow it. With Mars stationing retrograde on September 9, there may be a hold up in the sports department till the end of 2020.
The Sun moves into Virgo on August 22 around 11:45AM EDT. Happy Birthday to the sign of Virgo.
Wishing everyone a safe and abundant August.
