How The Crystal Garden is Coping Fulfilling Orders Virtually and Online

Thanks to the way the store grew organically over the years, (established 1988), Margaret Ann Lembo and her amazing well-versed staff were, luckily, in good shape for the pandemic. Although sales are significantly lower than when in-store shopping was an option, the online and virtual shoppers have kept The Crystal Garden alive.

In 2005, Lembo, an evolutionary aromatherapist, developed the Wholesale Division which sells The Crystal Garden Brand Aromatherapy. Her client base consists of brick-and-mortar conscious living stores, whole body markets, spas, chiropractors, and metaphysical stores and boutiques worldwide.

"I feel really fortunate," she continued. "We had the right business model for the moment."

The store closed to in-person browsing in March with Lembo noting that she has a "high percentage of senior staff" including herself. She and her team, The Crystal Garden Angels, found that their "regular customers just don't care and appreciate her mindfulness to keep everyone safe while still providing service."

The only people wanting to come into the store are tourists or people with time to kill while vacationing or wintering in Florida. Customers are enjoying concierge service and she said, “We are getting to know our customers more personally and uplift their spirits during this Global Pandemic when we are being called to isolate and go within.” The shows provide comic relief – they laugh a lot and often – while creating community as a break from the solitude that is necessary at this time.

Being closed to browsing also gave the team a chance to remodel parts of the store - the incense room and the crystal room – and develop the studio for Shopping Shows and Free Zoom Event in the Angel Room which previously was primarily used as the Event Room for classes and workshops. They also took the opportunity to do reorganize the store in a way that makes it easier to pick the merchandise that is being purchased online.

All of the staff of The Crystal Garden is in a state of gratitude and are dedicated to providing safe and good service coupled with loving kindness.
