Astrological Forecast for August 2023

August is full of planetary energies that create tensions in the first half but give way to relaxation by the end of the month.

We have two full Moon’s this month, and both are Supermoon’s. Normally we average three to four Supermoon’s a year. 2023 has four and we already had one of them earlier this year.

Every two and a half year’s we have two Supermoon’s in one month. The Moon represents the collective sub conscious, emotional expression, mother divine and the fullness and completion often affiliated with Brahman consciousness or fullness of the mind in Vedic astrology.

A Supermoon appears 8 to 16 percent brighter than a normal full Moon because it is closest to the Earth called “perigean” by astronomers. Astrologers are more concerned with the effects of the Supermoon on the psychological, emotional, spiritual, and physical effects to humans.

We start off August 1^st with a Supermoon in the sign of Aquarius at nine degrees and 16 minutes (2:32PM EDT). If you have the Sun, Moon, rising or planets in Aquarius, look to the house meanings and aspects to the Moon to see which areas of your life will be influenced.

This Supermoon in Aquarius is stressed with two T-squares and two Yod’s (finger of God). Venus is at the center of both Yod’s in the sign of Leo, in retrograde motion, and Venus is also at the center of one of the Yod’s.

This is lots of fixed energy. Fixed quality is stubborn to change and with so much stress can create anger when confronted by others for the need to change. Leo represents leaders in politics so we will see some steamy debates as well as explosive energies from the Ukraine and Russia war.

If you are born under the signs of Leo, Taurus, Aquarius or Scorpio, your affirmation for this month is “I LET GO FO THE OLD AND EMBRACE ALL OF THE WONDERFUL NEW THAT THE UNIVERSE HAS FOR ME.”

Holding onto old ways of doing things in your personal life, professional life, and the relationship you have with yourself can create waves of frustration. I would say the first half of August is tuff for the signs mentioned but also for Capricorn’s and Pisces as the two Yod’s involve these signs as well. Yod’s want adjustments and BOTH the full Moon on August 1^st and the new Moon on August 16^th, have a Taurus signature.

This is because both charts had five planets in the Earth element and five fixed qualities. What sign is Earth and fixed? Taurus.

With Venus in retrograde motion and the ruler of Taurus, both Leo and Taurus are taking life very seriously in the first half of August.

Taurus hangs onto the physical world and loves the pleasures of the senses while Leo wants to party with romantic fun.

If you have Sun, Moon, rising or planets in either of these signs, you will be tested in the first half of August. You may want to change your diet to alleviate health issues, which is one of the areas this stressful combination is creating.

Don’t overeat on your favorite foods and don’t think that the physical world is the most important aspect of life. Take up mediation to explore the more refined aspects of creation so you are not solely identified with the physical gross manifestations of life.

Most humans miss inner bliss and need outside stimulation all the time to experience joy on a superficial level. I teach “Inner grace mediation” which is inexpensive and highly effective to calm the nervous system down, to let go of life’s challenges and to remain healthy.

Both Leo and Taurus are questioning their personal lives. Who can they really trust? Is there a current relationship based on honesty? Does money define their lives? What really brings joy into their area of vocation? These are some of the questions both Leo and Taurus are asking themselves as well as Capricorn and Pisces.

Venus will remain retrograde till September 4^th in the sign of Leo and will take till the beginning of October till Venus is out of its retrograde shadow. Therefore, the fixed signs are going inward for answers regarding abundance, romance, and health.

Also, the North and South Nodes, were traveling through the signs of Taurus and Scorpio, since January of 2022, have now moved into the signs of Aries and Libra.

North Node is where we gain and grow in life. South Node is where we have been and tends to take a back seat. Aries wants individual empowerment and Libra’s social aspect will be toned down.

Venus is the natural ruler of Libra, and its retrograde period makes the signs of Leo and Libra less sociable. If you have Sun, Moon, rising or planets in Leo or Libra, you can be more comforted to know that you’re not going crazy or into deep depression if you don’t feel sociable. This energy changes for the sign of Leo by the middle of October.

The eclipses over the last couple of years have emphasized Taurus and Scorpio which is about financial balance and trying to get mother nature, the environment, in order or at least taken seriously.

The Aries/Libra energy gets activated not only by the North and South Node but eclipses changing to Aries/Libra that started in April 2023. If you are born under the sign of Aries, an increase in confidence, if that’s possible, will manifest. If you’re in a relationship with anyone born under the sign of Aries, don’t expect much cooperation over the next year and a half. Aries wants to do things their way.

Scorpio is the sign that is creating a balance for the other fixed signs Aquarius, Leo, and Taurus. To accept transformation in one’s life as meaningful for one’s evolution rather than feeling like you’re losing in life.

Aquarius full Moon challenges the traditional models of life so we will continue to see people rebel against any form of government that tries to take their freedoms away from them. We are seeing this all over the world. Israel, Iran, U.K, Russia, Africa, South and Central America and other countries as well.

Mother Earth is crying for balance as we have seen in the weather patterns and August is another month for hurricanes starting to manifest. With all the extreme heat we have had in July, August could be challenged with two Supermoon’s which increase the fluid levels of ocean waters that have been heated up in July. The hurricane season could be active.

The good news is many lessons of life can be learned with T-squares and Yod’s and major breakthroughs can happen. The problems with violence will be brought up AGAIN and that needs to be calmed down. Stress management techniques in holistic healthcare practices can help to heal this situation more than any other way.

We don’t have any planets moving into new signs up to the new Moon on August 16^th so I will move into the new Moon in Leo on the 16^th at 23 degrees 17 minutes (5:38AM EDT).

Leo has already been going through adjustments in their lives but now we have new beginnings, new Moon, for a chance to move forward with choices made via inner reflection that started when Venus stationed retrograde on July 23^rd, now ready to put into action the new answers to their lives with grace.

I say grace because this new Moon in Leo chart has a grand trine and no T-squares and no Yod’s. What a difference from the Supermoon on August 1^st. The grand trine in Earth signs lends practical details to the stressful squares the new Moon is creating with Uranus in Taurus.

The beginning of the month has financial tensions in it, but this new Moon shows promise for directions in the economy that are supportive towards American families. The signs of Leo, Taurus, Scorpio, and Aquarius get a break from a stressful last week in July to the middle of August.

This new Moon chart also has a Taurus signature indicating those with Sun, Moon, rising or planets in Taurus can benefit from the choices they made in the first half of August. Maybe you needed to save up some money from the last week of July till the middle of August for a family fun vacation and now it’s time to have fun.

This new Moon gives the entertainment world a boost, but a few people can spoil the show and we have seen entertainers, including Taylor Swift, being attacked by flying objects thrown at them while they are performing from audience members and even before and after the performance while they are walking.

It’s time to re-think what motivates some of these stars as the public is stressed and restless from financial pressures and unstable mental, emotional, physical heath issues still lingering from the Covid shutdowns.

The grand trine in Earth signs calms the nervous energies for Taurus, Virgo and Capricorn lending some help to these signs but the fixed sings are on edge and needing to do some deep spiritual work from within rather than finding ways to escape in the objective world of identification.

The Sun moves into the practical and organized sign of Virgo on August 23^rd at 5:01AM EDT. Happy birthday to Virgo.

Just when you think Mercury, the planet that rules Virgo and Gemini, is moving forward it stations retrograde on the 23^rd at 3:59PM EDT in the sign of Virgo at 21 degrees and stations direct on September 15^th at 8 degrees in Virgo.

It’s time to think about re-organizing life as a new school year is ready to start and this new Moon starts all the shopping for new school clothes, pencils, pens, notebooks, and backpacks. Parents are busy.

Mercury retrograde can make things stressful when it comes to organizing life, so the outcome is not as graceful, and plans tend to not follow through as planned.

Because Mercury is in its own sign of Virgo and a grand trine is in Earth signs, there is stability from the new Moon chart till ANOTHER full Moon on the 30^th of August.

Virgo is well organized but deep reflections of how to plan life are in the face of those with Sun, Moon, rising or planets in Virgo. They have a third eye that sees through the details even if it is a Mercury retrograde period. The Earth sign’s benefit and weather the storms coming up in this Mercury retrograde time.

Mars moves into Libra on August 27^th giving an extra physical boost of energy to those with the Sun, Moon, rising or planets in Libra. Social life is in full motion as college students head back to school and K through 12^th grade is activated. Mars remains in Libra till October 12^th.

As mentioned at the beginning of this forecast, we normally don’t have two full Moon’s in a month. It happens every two and a half years. It’s called a blue Moon because it’s the second full Moon in a calendar month.

This is also a Supermoon in the sign of Pisces at 7 degrees 26 minutes on August 30^th (9:36PM EDT).

If you have the Sun, Moon, rising or planets in Pisces you are trying to keep your feet on the ground and not getting lost in fantasy land. Why is this? The opposite sign of Pisces is Virgo helping Pisces to navigate through life in a more organized practical way and not getting their heads too high in the clouds.

Saturn, the taskmaster is conjunct this full Moon also helping to tame the foggy clouds of perception into practical Earth-bound reality. This combination is very helpful for Pisces as Mercury is retrograde and opposing Neptune, the normal ruler of Pisces.

I think of all the signs, Pisces can make great advancements in life from August 30^th till the next new Moon on September 14th. They want to find balance between the higher dimensions of spirituality and the practical responsibilities of day-to-day life so they can move forward.

This Supermoon has a Grand trine like the new Moon just experienced in Earth signs. The Earth signs help the water signs get it together and the water signs help the Earth signs go deeper into their perceptions of life.

If you participate in spiritual vocations, this is a wonderful time to channel higher dimensional energies, astrology work, healing work, creating a practical health plan and deep meditations into the lively silence of bliss hidden deep within.

Uranus turns retrograde in Taurus at 23 degrees on August 28th. This could indicate sudden shifts in the financial lives of those born under the sign of Taurus. Retrograde periods offer a review. In Taurus, it’s a financial review. How much money is left in the account after spending so much on summer activities and getting ready for a new school year for the kids?

Overall, a highly active month with Labor Day weekend around the corner to end the summer fun of 2023.
