Divine Wisdom From Michele Livingston

by Michele Livingston

Dear Michele,

It seems like you can answer a myriad of questions on spiritual subjects, but my question is about money! My family is very religious and I was taught not to lust after money or hoard material things. In today’s world it seems that the lack of or need for money is such an important issue. There is a lot of greed, I’ve observed. Is money really evil, what’s its purpose and how can I change my thoughts regarding it? Thanks,

Tom

Dear Tom,

Interesting question! Because the issue of money is contained in the physical and material world, I once again consulted my angels called the "light beings," who seem to be able to tap into universal knowledge. Here’s what I received from them:

Money is a tool of exchange; it is not to be horded or worshiped. It was said that the root of all evil is money. Money in itself is not evil. Our Creator wants us all to have life and have it more abundantly. It’s the motives that lie behind the exchange of money that is important. Many people feel lack in their lives, they feel unworthy. God created all souls equally and each has an opportunity for growth. One is to share money or tithe a portion to a good cause – a cause that moves one’s heart. Whether it is a club, foundation, association, church, school, charity or another organization – where your heart lies in giving is where your true treasure lies. Money is the root of evil when it is used to manipulate or overpower others, when it is used for supremacy. All are loved equally by the Creator and are worthy to receive. Giving is most important because it balances receiving – so the circle of the exchange of goods is complete. Therefore money is good when it is used for the highest good of all. It is not good when it is self-serving – when it is used to control others or used in an indulgent way.

Many feel material wealth will bring happiness, but this is false. True happiness starts in the human heart through compassion, concern and kindness for others. The root of evil in regards to money also means envy, wanting to possess or have what another has – the willingness to steal from another to have more.

The concept on the earth plane at times seems to be the more I spend and give, the less I will have. The opposite is true. The more one gives from the heart, for the right reasons, the more will be given to him. There is nothing wrong with having security or saving money. There is nothing wrong with prudence or self-discipline regarding money. But there needs to be a balance of giving and receiving. The ocean’s tide essentially flows in and out. It does not stay on the shore, nor does it stay in the ocean. It cannot! Think of your money in this way. Can you keep it and hoard it? You can, but it’s not the natural law of the universe. Can you give it all away and live in poverty? You can, but God wants you to have abundance.

The Creator did not say He wants His children to be destitute or struggling financially, for humanity’s happiness is His happiness. Because of free choice and free will, it is up to each individual to decide which path to choose on how to view the issue of money. So, the bottom line is, it is up to you, Tom, to decide what your opinion of money is. But remember, if these principles of giving and receiving are followed, your life and money will flow. Money is just a tool of exchange, not just for goods, but with a deeper meaning. When used for a higher purpose it can change the world – when it is given in love, from the heart.

Dear Michele,

I’ve attended a couple of your seminars and notice that you always say a protective prayer before you start doing readings. Are there bad spirits that come through if you don’t? I was just curious.

Thanks,

Donna

Dear Donna,

There are no so-called "bad spirits" in the light of the fourth dimension, for all were created in love eons ago. What I guard against are discarnate spirits who are caught between the dimensions. These are not bad souls, just confused and wandering. Most souls go directly to the light, but there are a few who remain. Some have passed quickly or tragically and do not realize that their souls have left their bodies. Some souls are in denial and refuse to see or go to the light. And some individuals who have been substance abusers (such as drugs or alcohol) miss their addictions and will hover around bars or crack houses to "attach" to individuals that are "high" so they can experience that feeling again.

I personally do not believe in fooling around with Ouija boards either, because discarnate souls at times can play with you and give misinformation. Before starting any form of spiritual work it’s important to "white light" yourself and pray that only those souls for your highest good and the highest good of others come through. If the information you receive is pertinent and confirming, you’re on the right track. And if the spirit is giving you good, uplifting and caring advice, it will feel right for you and you’ll know they are from the light and love of the other side.
