Whitney's Whirl - Your Horoscope for Week of Feb. 2-8, 2009

With Mercury now direct again, we can look forward to plans finally coming together and moving forward, while a new found sense of freedom allows our minds to fly, and find our spiritual playground! With today being Candlemas, or Ground Hog day, you can celebrate with a lit candle in a spiritual sense, or in a more jovial sense as when Punxsutawney Phil either sees or does not see his shadow, bringing us more or less of winter! Ground Hog day was once called Imbolc, a pagan celebration associated with fertility and weather divination. The word, Imbolc, is Gaelic, or the language of the Celts. There is a strong association between Imbolc and Brigid, a Celtic fertility goddess. When these pagan holidays were transformed into Catholic rites, two new holidays sprang up from Imbolc, one being Saint Brigid's Day, similar to Saint Patrick's Day, and the other became Candlemas Day.
This week's Astrological outlook:
Aries: With love looking tremendous this week, someone might truly surprise you with a message of devotion and/or admiration before Valentine's day! I see a get away ahead replete with passion, and travel. Higher ups reward your multi-talents; look for that in your pay check.
Taurus: Don't be surprised if an old boss comes looking for you this week. Your talents speak for themselves, and you could take something that you really enjoy doing, and turn it into a career goal.
Gemini: Psychological rebound is yours this week, as career or work spring forth new options! Limitations or family obligations are lightened considerably by legal considerations now. Fear not, there is a life preserver available.
Cancer: Your ongoing struggle is with your daily inventory vs a plan. Go back to school, learn a trade, study. You have talents that are lying dormant, use them! If your education holds you back, then create a career using what you know how to do.
Leo: Other people, or partners can help you financially if you let them. Work issues clear, with an offer coming to pull you forward and up. Someone sees your gifts and inspiration, and wants to help further your goals.
Virgo: It will be easy this week to express the love you have for someone, and don't be surprised if you find out that it's reciprocal. You might just take that new offer to work for a company with long range goals helping the world become a better place for all of us.
Libra: A family member may tell you some good news regarding a work promise. Your artistic abilities really shine this week, so be sure to showcase your talents. Don't ignore a health issue, keep it under your scrutiny.
Scorpio: Your artistic expression will bring you to a higher point this week! Stand tall so that you can see past the snow banks darkened with weary winter! Every thought is a portrait of your future, but your talents far out weight your debts.
Sagittarius: I see a long term study plan changing your career considerably! Teaching, studying, and some travel all brighten this week! Home and family is a source of good news, joy, and inspiration. Throw a party, and find something to celebrate!
Capricorn: That special gift that you have is going to get noticed now. Some surprising news could be just the thing to enliven your mind, and keep it focused on today, tomorrow, and your future. I hear prosperity in the wind.
Aquarius: Play the lottery this week! Good news finds you, and promises to inflame your heart, while adding some zing to your work and ideas. Your talent is going to carry you far, you just keep working at it, no, I'm not kidding.
Pisces: Your creativity finds an outlet, which will increase your assets. Those ideas that have been building for awhile now, are no longer embers, they are the fire of inspiration and tomorrow's promise of financial grace!
